Fashion For The Modern Mom

Sometimes I hear people say, "I'm a mom, I have no time for fashion!" 

Do you want to know what I say to that? I say,"BULLSH#%!"

Why? 

It's simple, fashion is something your already doing, without realizing it. 

From the moment I wake up, make breakfast for my daughter, and look into my closet for an outfit, my fashion is already there. Whatever I chose to pick out at the store a couple of days ago, that was my chance at fashion. 

Here's an example: a few days ago I thought to myself, I need more clothes. 

Truth is, I didn't. I am willing to bet that many of you reading this all ready have a bunch of clothes. The fact is, you just don't want to wear them anymore. 

I know this, trust me, I've been through this. 

Until one day I got the idea, I can take my clothes and actually wear them! 

I know, I sound sarcastic, but it's the truth! 

The next time you go out to the store, or thrift shop to buy a nice item, think of something that goes with something you already have at home. 

Doing this simple thing, every time you intend on buying clothes, and sooner or later, you will have completely beautiful outfits!

You can even take extra material and make earrings out of them. Those old shirts you don't use? Make a bag out of them! 

To make a bag from a t-shirt or tank:

1. Cut T-shirt into a tank.
2. Fold shirt in half so that you can carry your shirt through the arm holes.
3. Fold shirt inside out.
4. Sew a straight line to close the bottom half of the shirt.
5. Flip right side out.

& waalahhh! You just created a t-shirt bag.

Full Figured Ladies & High Heels

To wear or not to wear... that is the question.

So, your wondering whether or not you should purchase those 4 inch stilletos online, and whether or not you'll look good in them. You've probably heard people talk about full figured women wearing stilletos, and how they effectively achieved the cow on stilts look. You weren't going for that look? Good.

Here are some tips to finding the right heel:

• Start off small, don't rush into the taller heels, if you have never worn a heel before.
• Make sure you try on a similar pair in person, before buying one online. 
• Try a thicker heel, a good heel that matches many women is one that is about an inch or two thick.
• (Trust me, size matters)
• Try your hand at some gel inserts for your toes.
• (The heavier you are, the more pressure you will be putting on your toes)
• Don't give up!
• ( Finding the perfect heel can be love at first sight, or can take awhile, no matter how you find "the one", make sure you keep on trying.)
• Be Comfortable!!!

The Plus-Size Stereotype

I can honestly say I have spent more than half of my life worrying about what other's have thought of me. If I left my house, I looked into the face of every single person as I walked past them in the street, or sat next to them on the bus, or even in class. I worried. I worried mainly about what they were thinking, as I re-adjusted my shirt and jacket for the 10th time. I figured they looked on at me like I was some zoo animal. I worried mainly for no reason, no one every said anything to me. I constantly would replay a moment when someone smiled at me, or bumped into me. I drove myself crazy every single day, tormenting my own mind, damaging my image by the way I felt about myself. No one could love me, and it was my fault. It wasn't until I realized, I didn't have to read minds to feel okay around people in public. I didn't have to re-adjust the skirt I wasn't sure if I looked good in for the 20th time, and I sure as hell didn't have to care about what others thought about me! It wasn't until I realized that if I just showed myself a little more love, that other's would see it, and I would feel inevitably better about myself. I've tried every single diet known to man, just to fit into an image that didn't fit me. I dreamed of a day when I would be a size 2, when I was a full figured size 22. I thought I was ugly, and I believed the ugly thoughts my mind made up, and that I have heard about myself over the years. However this is a new year. This is 2013, and I intend on making every single moment count. I have slowly changed nearly every single aspect of my life. Including love, fashion, and family. I'm here to share every bit of it with you. Will you join YVV and make a change this year? Will you stand up to those who thought your weren't worth it? Will you grow into the beautiful person you are? Yes, Yes, Yes, and YES! & you'll do it all right here.
